The Time Is Now

Why is now the time to go to a facilities Referendum?

It has been
nearly 20 years

The School District of Marshfield has not passed a facility referendum since 2005, almost 20 years ago.

Planning
Since 2016

The School District of Marshfield has been engaged in facility planning since 2016, working with our staff, students and community to define priorities.

Needs are outside of
our budget

The prioritized needs cannot be addressed within the District's annual budget.

Our needs will
not go away

The needs will not go away, and will only become more costly to address in the future. Waiting one year to address the needs could result in over $3.5 million in additional cost.

A COMMUNITY
BASED PLAN

We received input from 238 staff members, over 40 students, and close to 850 District residents to produce a prioritized plan.

SOLUTION HAS BEEN PRIORITIZED

The School District of Marshfield has over $157 million in facility needs. Keeping our taxpayers in mind, this referendum prioritizes less than half of those needs.

THIS PLAN IS 30%
LESS THAN PREVIOUS

Our taxpayers asked us to reduce the referendum amount, and we listened - this referendum is almost 30% less than the April 2023 facility referendum.

WE WILL BENEFIT FROM STATE AID

The estimated average of additional annual state aid to the District will be approximately 13% of the referendum cost.
